L’affrontement entre Minsk et Varsovie sur le dos des réfugiés provoque une réelle crise humanitaire dans la zone frontalière faute d’accès, en totale violation des règles internationales. ENTRETIEN
Depuis l’établissement de l’état d’urgence en septembre, le gouvernement polonais a instauré une zone interdite sur trois kilomètres de large, le long de sa frontière avec la Biélorussie. Même la Fédération internationale de la Croix-Rouge, ainsi que d’autres ONG, n’ont pas le droit de s’y rendre, explique Georgia Trismpioti, conseillière en diplomatie humanitaire.
Quelle est la situation dans cette zone où sont bloqués les demandeurs d’asile ?

GEORGIA TRISMPIOTI  La Croix-Rouge n’est pas présente dans cette zone, tout comme les autres organisations internationales. Personne n’a le droit de venir en aide aux migrants là-bas. Même la Croix-Rouge polonaise n’a pas eu l’autorisation d’entrer dans cette zone, et c’est notre principale inquiétude, car nous savons que des centaines de personnes qui sont prises au piège entre les deux pays et ils ont désespérément besoin d’assistance humanitaire et de protection. Malheureusement, on ne peut pas aller jusqu’à eux et leur offrir cela, puisque le gouvernement polonais a décrété cette zone inaccessible avec l’état d’urgence.
